Frequently Asked Questions

No experience is necessary to get started! We begin with the basics: proportions, gesture drawing, lines, and eventually move onto fabric and details. We make it easy to follow along with step-by-step instructions that will not overwhelm you.

The best results are typically achieved with shorter periods of practice on a more regular basis. We suggest that our students aim for 4-6 hours per week, in 45-90 minute increments. This will allow you to make progress, retain information, and avoid burnout.

We do both! The principles of drawing are the same whether you’re working with markers, watercolor, gouache, colored pencils, or even digital drawing. We provide examples of different mediums so you can decide what works best for you.

Yes! We love helping our students find their unique voice! Once you have mastered the basics, we encourage you to play and experiment. We will teach you how to exaggerate, find your own way of rendering fabric, and explore color.
